LINEAPIU’ ITALIA | Our commitment to the environment

The approach of Lineapiù Italia to sustainability goes beyond the hype of the moment with a long-term vision that is aimed at maintaining an equilibrium between the environment and beauty.

Our goal is to use raw materials originating only from sustainable, recycled, organic and certified sources.
We have the good fortune to have our headquarters, laboratories and production facilities all located in Tuscany, right outside of Florence, with nature and beauty an integral part of our day-to-day routine. We are committed to ensuring those who come after us will have a better world to inherit than the one we found.

As for raw materials of cellulose origin, Lineapiù Italia uses FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council™) certified viscose filament for 80% of its yarns, committing to reach 100% by 2025.

A RESPONSIBLE USE OF PAPER | In Packaging we choose to use only FSC certified products, which defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest management, which are supported by environmental, social and economic stakeholders.
The boxes with which the spools of yarns are shipped, in addition to being Made in Italy, are post-consumer, or rather contain 45% recycled fibers with the remaining part in virgin cellulose, while ecologically-friendly treatments make them completely recyclable and biodegradable.

TREACEABILITY AND RAW MATERIALS | In the selection of raw materials we work with suppliers capable of guaranteeing the highest quality standards, to verify which we carry out constant surveys through analyzes in accredited laboratories. On fibers of animal origin we continuously check the content of chemical substances (according to the ZDHC protocols), urging suppliers to adapt to the standards and protocols required for animal welfare. In synthetic raw materials (but also animal, such as cashmere), every season we increase the percentage of yarns containing fibers of recycled origin and certified according to the GRS standard (Global Recycle Standard).

PROCESSES | The entire chain of command for monitoring and qualifying suppliers complies with the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) protocol, which strictly controls the use of chemicals with the aim of creating a supplier rating system and reducing the presence of chemical substances throughout the entire production process.

CERTIFICATIONS

FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council™): the viscose filament used in the yarns of the Lineapiù collection is FSC™ certified, an international non-governmental organization that promotes forest management in an environmentally friendly, socially advantageous and economically sustainable way.

GRS (Global Recycle Standard): in the Filclass and Lineapiù Knit Art collections are numerous items containing Pre-Consumer cotton (coming from yarn scraps originating in production) and recycled, GRS-certified Post-Consumer Polyester (coming from garments or plastic material both destined for disposal).

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): GOTS was developed by leading international organizations in agriculture and organic farming to ensure the consumer is provided with organic textile products obtained in compliance with strict environmental and social criteria applied at all levels of the production, from the harvesting of natural fibers to the subsequent manufacturing phases, up to labelling of the finished product.

RAF (Responsible Mohair Standard) is an acronym used by Textile Exchange to cover standards that concearn animal fibers. RAF currently includes wool (Responsible Wool Standard), mohair (Responsible Mohair Standard) and alpaca (Responsible Alpaca Standard). These standards focus on animal welfare, land management and social welfare on farms and within the chain from the farm to the final product.
